Individuals, like yourself, can effectively influence Federal and State elected officials by explaining the specific consequences of legislation being considered.  Elected officials are subjected to hundreds of legislative proposals every session.  They cannot be expected to be experts on every issue - they need and want our help!  The legislators require the information you possess to make informed decisions.

Each of us has a right and responsibility to express our views and concerns.  This process ensures government does not operate without our collective voices being heard.  Individual involvement, as a constituent and businessperson, is essential in having elected officials listen to and evaluate voters' opinions in formulating positions.

The key to effective grassroots activity is communication.  With the basic guidelines provided on GUARD's Grassroots site, you will see the many ways you can influence the decisions made by your senators and representatives.  Remember: the key to grassroots success is you!
