As Chief Insurance and Product Development Officer responsible for both Commercial and Personal product lines, Lyle Hitt brings with him over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry in positions of increasing responsibility. For Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies, Lyle oversees the development and growth of all Property and Casualty insurance lines of business. He works closely with his team and key players within the Company to drive the build out of new products. In addition, he oversees and manages our existing products to refine and improve Berkshire Hathaway GUARD’s offerings.
Prior to his current tenure, he served as an executive at Arch Insurance Group where he most recently oversaw the insurer’s Professional Liability Division, Corporate Training, and Travel Insurance Division. During his time at that carrier, he successfully grew the written premium of several divisions and served as a member of the company’s strategy group. Prior to his tenure at Arch, he held executive positions at Zurich North America.
Lyle is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He has obtained his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation.
