BH GUARD Hosts Business Academy Students
March 14, 2024Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies recently collaborated with Wilkes-Barre Area School District and Junior Achievement (JA) of Northeast Pennsylvania to provide students in Wilkes-Barre Area’s Business Academy an introduction to the insurance industry and potential career path options.
As part of a new pilot program called JA Company Insight, students visited GUARD’s home office in Wilkes-Barre and had the opportunity to shadow and interact with departments of their choosing to understand more about our day-to-day operations and specific roles.
“Students participating in the program will shadow employees in various GUARD departments to obtain a feel for the day-to-day operations of a potential future career,” said Hal Gabriel, Administrator of the Business Academy and Special Programs at Wilkes-Barre Area. “They will also learn about some of the incentive programs GUARD offers, including internships, hiring and training opportunities, and tuition reimbursement benefits,” added Carl Witkowski, Chief Operating Officer at GUARD.
